WRC Awards
The WRC recognizes Loyola students, some of whom are or were WRC employees, as well as Loyola faculty/staff and a New Orleans community partner, who show exceptional dedication to intersectional feminism. WRC employees submit their nominations at the end of the fall semester or the beginning of the spring, and the awardees are honored in an end of the year ceremony.
The awards are as follows:
Outstanding Feminist Faculty Member
This is awarded to a Loyola professor who has demonstrated an active passion for feminism. This can include, but is not necessarily limited to, feminist-centered research or lessons, or even their role in the community outside of Loyola as a dedicated feminist.
Outstanding Feminist Staff Member
This is awarded to a Loyola staff member who has demonstrated an active passion for feminism.
Outstanding Feminist Alumni
This is awarded to a feminist alumni who continues their feminist pursuits.
Outstanding Feminist Community Partner
Previous winners have been NOLA4Women, STAR, the Family Justice Center, etc.
Feminist Leadership Award
This award is for any Loyola student who exemplifies impressive feminist leadership. They can be a WRC employee, but they are not required to be as a condition of eligibility. The winner is provided with a $100 check at the ceremony. Students are allowed to nominate themselves.
Distinguished service to the WRC
This award specifically spotlights an exceptional WRC employee.. The winner is provided with a $100 check at the ceremony. Students are allowed to nominate themselves.
